Total Cost of Ownership
The TCO tool helps homeowners make an informed decision about upgrading their HVAC systems. Should they upgrade today or wait until the next time it breaks? Should they buy the 14 SEER unit or the 22 SEER unit when they upgrade? The higher SEER costs more today but what about the savings in electricity and maintenance over its lifetime? The TCO is an interactive tool that shows how monthly cost, breakeven, total cost, and more change when the assumptions in the model are changed.
I designed the entire TCO tool: requirements gathering, wireframing, interactive prototyping, and finally providing dev-ready designs.
