Altisource Origination Services (AOS) Project
I significantly impacted the Altisource Origination Services (AOS) project, a collaborative effort with two subsidiaries, in order to develop software for streamlining the home loan document review process. When I joined the project, it was 14 weeks into development. I found the team’s organization chaotic and goals unclear. So, I met with senior leadership to advocate for a user-centered design approach. With their support, I implemented changes to refocus the project on user needs.
By creating user personas and placing a strong emphasis on continually refining our understanding of users, we were able to shift the project's focus to a more effective and user-centric product design. This change ultimately led to a significant improvement in the home loan process.
Created User Personas
Led the team through a process and then stuck these personas to the wall in our creative space
Organized All Existing Designs
Created a sitemap and a clickable prototype that organized existing work and highlighted design gaps
Worked within Existing Design Style
Filled in each of the design gaps with clickable prototypes to help developers understand and implement designs
Built an Interactive State Matrix
Created an interactive state matrix for the backend team so they could visualize the business requirements
Summary
Joined the AoS team after they had started development and were severely behind schedule
Organized the team around a user-centered design process
Created an interactive prototype that highlighted all the UI gaps in the platform
Ultimately re-designed the entire Loan Origination Services platform and turned around a project that was so far behind when I joined
